Robin of Sherwood Map to The Draycott Sleights

Another field, another location. The Draycott Sleights is a reserve behind the small connurbation of Draycott. It's slopes and rocky outcroppings served as the location for the final showdown between Robin (Michael Praed) and the Sheriff (Nicolas Grace) in The Greatest Enemy

Instantly spotting the gate for the entrance to the Draycott Sleights (another entrance for production vehicles to pull into) you head through the turnstile and into the reserve. Spotting the actual hill that Robin dies on is difficult to start with but walking the perimeter with a screen shot we were able to pinpoint it and the angle it was shot from. The top of the rocks have obviously changed over the years (what with the sheep grazing on them) but there's still a few familiar shapes.

"Spotting the actual hill that Robin dies on is difficult to start with.."

It can be a leg killer, getting to the top, especially if you've been to the top of the other hills in the area to make sure, but it is a satisfying view when you get to the summit and look about. We spent about an hour here, looking about and trying to see if the part where the Sheriff actually stood was filmed here too. It wasn't that conclusive, with no real reference points to go on so we abandoned that aspect of the search.
Robin of Sherwood - Robins last stand Robin of Sherwood - Was that where the Sheriff attacked from? Who knows.
