Blaise Castle Estate was one of our places to return to and, on this trip, we discovered two more locations
Before we set foot on the grounds, we took great care in scanning an aerial view of the place. Heading directly acRobin of Sherwoods the field in front of the car park, we struck out for the monument. Fighting our way through trees and undergrowth like possessed adventurers, we stumbled on the path and steps to take us up to the castle keep.
"Fighting our way through trees and undergrowth like possessed adventurers..."

Our first location we aimed to find was used in the final scene of the pilot
Robin Hood and the Sorcerer. Fans will remember the clifftop speach that Robin gave to the others to persuade them that the loss of the lives of Dicken and Tom was worth the fight for freedom. The backdrop to this scene looked out over a valley and we discovered it (with the help of a few Robin of Sherwood fans out there - thanks guys)
"we took great care in scanning an aerial view of the place "
Heading back to the monument, we went on the hunt for our next location, that of the long stretch of 'road' they used to film the scene of the Sheriff returning to Nottingham with the cart in
The Children of Israel. Several hills and slippery slopes later (Ed - if you're going to visit this place, take some darn good walking shoes!!) we broke out onto the area.

This area stretched for a long while, back towards the estates beyond the trees and, rather than walk the length of it because we had a busy schedule, we filmed what we needed to before retiring back to the car.
